Advocacy Worker – Transitions

Salary £23,398 – £24,964 pa pro rata

21 hours per week plus pension contribution

Based at Speak Out’s office in Hove

Brighton and Hove Speak Out is an innovative local charity. We support people with learning disabilities to have a voice and choice and control over their lives through providing a range of advocacy and community services.

We are seeking to appoint a part time Transitions Advocacy Worker the set up and deliver this exciting new project. The role involves supporting young people with learning disabilities who are moving, or planning to move, into more independent accommodation. You will provide 1:1 advocacy an signposting as well as support fortnightly self- advocacy groups.

The successful candidate will need excellent communication and organisational skills, and be able to manage a complex workload. Experience of advocacy and group work is essential. Knowledge of young people’s services and experience of working with vulnerable client groups is an advantage.
