Artists Open Houses – Am I Disposable?

This Christmas, for the first time, Speak Out are taking part in the Artists Open Houses Christmas festival.

Some time ago one of the people who come to Speak Out heard about a debate in parliament regarding the termination of pregnancies where the foetus was known to be disabled.  This troubled her and she produced a piece of art and prose to express her fears.  She wondered if disabled people were disposable.  This exhibition hopes to invite people into the lives of people with learning disabilities for a small glimpse.  You can see and read her piece here.

Speak Out is very excited to be part in this event and we will be open every Saturday over the festival. On Saturday 25th November, 2nd & 9th December our doors will be open from 11am – 4pm.

Everyone is welcome and we look forward to seeing you there!
